Technical Service Reliability Workbook for the Dynamic Datacenter

What is a Dynamic Datacentre

In my opinion the Dynamic Datacentre refers to a resilient, flexible and scalable infrastructure, one that makes use of some forms of virtualisation combined with management tools that proactively monitor, run maintenance jobs and remediate through automation.

If you happen to have a dynamic data centre then here is some documents of interest to guide you on running it safely….

The MOF team has put out a new Technical Service Reliability guide and Reliability workbook for the Dynamic Datacenter.  These along with many other resources are available here – http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/solutionaccelerators/ff713948.aspx

There is also a video available from one of the MMS 2010 sessions earlier in the year.

MMS 2010 video – Dynamic Datacenter and Service Management Explained

While you don’t have to do all of the recommendations, or own all of the tools listed, there are plenty of best business and technical practices.  Remember MOF and ITIL are frameworks to integrate  into your business not the other way round 🙂
